I love this opportunity to learn the broken music box. Some years ago I was starting learning a versione with a half footlock or dancer lock because It was easier to unlock the foot before the crossback entry. Is It sage to use It also in this sequence? Thanks

Good question. Typically, foot locks styles are interchangeable when it comes to being useful as a foot lock. As you mentioned above, what style foot lock can depend on the exit needed. A half lock can be less ‘sturdy’ depending on what shapes you might be moving through while keeping the foot lock on as it’s typically used for a quick exit.
Happy training!

unfortunately i don’t have a video but i’ll try to explain what happened to me during the open 360. after the fallen angel and after having slipped between the two poles of the fabric, i joined my legs and got into tuck, but maybe a little late, because i slipped forward, creating an extra loop of fabric around my knees that blocked me in the position. suggestions? (i had tried the version proposed by kerry a couple of times)

Hi There! Ok, sounds like the tuck happened a bit late and maybe more head to the ground? Kerry stresses tucking with chest horizontal to the ground. Maybe try again with a sooner tuck, head and hips flat (horizontal) instead of vertical. See if you can get a video, and also Kerry will go over this in the Q&A. Let us know how it goes!!!

Hello! The music box tends to stress my left shoulder which has had a previous injury. I can do the music box without too much pain on the other side, except I still feel stress, especially when unrolling. Any suggestions on how to keep the top shoulder safe from injury? Thank you!

Hi Dr. Chris!!!
I also struggle with shoulder discomfort when doing music box. Here are Kerry’s thoughts on that subject-
Tips to keep the shoulders safe in music box:⁃ Don’t pull up at all. Stay in a long arm grip and hang from the joint
⁃ Stay at a higher angle when wrapping the top arm
⁃ Keep shoulders slightly internally rotated the whole time by moving the most at the waist. Keep lower arm attached to the front of the thigh. Open hips and sit when rotating. All flexion and extension should be the waist/hips vs the shoulders
⁃ When rotating out – chase the tail using an attitude position with the free leg. Dive forward with the head with the body and leg following instead of leading. Try not to fold or pike the free leg in when exiting.
Let us know how that goes!!!!

Dr Chris, same situation here. I haven’t tried it yet due to biceps tendonitis on my left side. Sad!! (Survivor’s tips on that welcome!) So thanks for all of the tips, team. Soooooon I hope to try it but will swap sides. Thanks!

Hi! I tried the mini rig sequence yesterday. FUN! The transition from the climb above music box to cross back is ok but a couple of times after tossing the slack in wind I suffered from tail confusion. I think I am close but if you have more cues let me know. I’m doing on the other side due to shoulder thing , just so you know.

Thanks, Kerry and Team Silkstars! The slower breakdown of the transition to cross back did the trick.
