Wow, we just learnt these elbow rolls in my silk class last week! I only watched the demonstration video, for now I must warn everyone to wear long sleeves while learning these rolls as my both hands are bruised after learning them and doing them continuously:) but they are fun!

Just watched the full videos – first of all, I love Veronica’s explanations and drills leading to the skill, she is so good and so cool!
But I wish the camera could go around a bit because in the main challenge video the whole wrapping for the triumphant balance is hardly visible as we can only see her back. Its a bit better visible in the mini-rig video🤗 -

Hello!
This month’s sequence is quite a challenge, but I love it 😀
I’ve started working on it this week and really bruised my arms, so I have to take a break for a few days.
It’s still early and hopefully I will get better during the month but I have a few questions. I also made a collage video of my struggles and uploaded it to my Silksstars profile.
1.) I’m not sure if my wrapped arm is in the right position because I’m not able to release the left hand. I have a feeling that my right shoulder will not be able to hold the weight of my body and that my upper body should be higher.
2.) When I bring the silk behind my head my right arm bends and it’s being painfully squized by the wraps. I find it easier skipping that part and going into the knee hang directly. That way my arm stays straight untill I sit up. Is it ok to skip the head wrapping part?
3.) The 5th technique tip is to push out the wrapped arm during the trapeze sit but it’s impossible for me to straighten the arm since my whole weight is on it.
4.) After the first elbow roll my arms are not in the right position for the second roll. I have to bring them beneath the tails to continue. How can I fix this?
5.) As you can see at the end of my video, I fell out of the elbow roll. Can you see why?

Thank you! Loved the Q&A! Veronica has such a fun personality and explains things to visually! Just love her! … Now I’m stuck again! Who’s surprised? 😂 https://www.silksstars.com/logged-in-homepage/. I don’t seem to be able to get my right arm up high enough to then come up and sit on the silk. I would LOVE some help or tips. Don’t know what I’m doing wrong. Thanks!

I don’t think that link worked, so I’m trying again.

Thanks for the video!
You have all the right parts in the right places. See if walking the hands up higher before the sit up gives you more room. Use a sit up to get the shoulders next to the knees to ‘set’ the height for the hands over the knees. And watch the timing of the knee slide. Veronica get her hands even on each pole, which is pretty high over the legs for the free arm and her knee hook doesn’t slide while she grabs with the wrapped arm. And then she does one more reach up as she sits up with the free arm. On the wrapped arm, the shoulder part of the wrap slides to her elbow, which is bent, but she has reached so high to make a seat. Every inch counts!
Happy training!-
