Hello! I have a question. Is it possible to see the CC in the video as in the previous month? It would be very helpful to understand better the explanation. Thank you!

Hi! That is odd as the CC shows that it is activated on our end. We just refreshed it so let us know if you still can’t see the CC and if so, which video isn’t working for you. Thanks!

Wow! You guys just keep coming up with the most fun and unique sequences! You sure make starting a new month exciting! Thanks! I’m working on the mini rig version and I have so much momentum after the back dive that I come almost straight up and then the wraps are too high for me to do the front tuck. I’m keeping a hollow body position and even lowering a bit with my hand on the pole, but still not able to control stopping at the front balance point. Any suggestions?

I’m not sure I have enough height to do the side dive at the end of the sequence. I might be okay but it makes me worried I’m going to hit my head at the bottom. Any suggestions for an alternate move at the end?

Hi! Is is possible to have a separate entry into the side dive to practice it separately without having to star drop every time?

Lookinkg for the same thank Ksenia 🙂 I am super scared of doing the side dive, I have a question, the legs should be just in the same position during the dive or should I do some posture as in a thigh windmill? Thank you!

Hi! I’ve been practicing the Mini Ring Challenge, and during the Gentle Star, I feel like the turn when I take my foot out is too abrupt. Any suggestions for making it more controlled? Then, in the back dive, I have the opposite problem as Jill: I stay in a pike position and can’t raise my torso. This also happened to me in the July challenge and is my problem in all the back dives 🙁
Here an example of this:

I’d love any advice on how to improve this! Thanks!!!-

Question: What to concentrate on while doing the first progression to star drop? I tried normal double star drop from open and from tuck position and my body alignment seems to be ok and horizontal. But when I try the progression as you showed for this drop, my body goes up and down. Do I concentrate on getting my body as horizontal as possible when I open my legs, do I concentrate on getting my legs open evenly and not scissor legs? WHat should be the main focus when I open from that tuck position? When I tried full drop from the salto position my body went here and there so I do need to get that first progression first.

Hi Kseniya, do you mean the progression from salto to pike (pausing from the salto before opening to the double star?). Is that the one that is causing your body to go up and down when you open out, or is it just going for the full drop without the pause that’s causing your body to not be horizontal? If you have a video that would be helpful to see. We can go over this at the Q&A!

Let me see if I can post the video here, never tried it before

The first part is the first progression that I try to master but as you see my body goes up and down in this. I also included here the only attempt I did on full drop but that was just to see how it feels and I saw that without mastering that horizontal engagement in the second part of the drop it cannot be done so easily😅
So I am trying to understand – what do I need to tell myself when I am hanging there ready to do the first progression? Do I arch too much when I open my legs?

Thank you for sharing! We will go over this in detail at the Q&A tomorrow. Would you mind if we shared this video during the Q&A to discuss? It would be helpful for everyone to see 🙂

Thank you for the great QnA session and for discussing my video in such great detail! Slowly and in control – this should be my motto from now on, I think I rely too much on momentum in drops. I cant wait to go to the studio and try again!

Glad you found the Q&A so helpful! Yes, let gravity do most of the work, some drops require momentum and power, like the end of the side dive needs power to come back upright without losing the wrap down the leg. And some drops require controlling the fall, like the shooting star. Happy training!

Hi! I’m so sorry I missed the live! I just watched it and it sounds like there were a couple of questions about the back dive into front balance (mini rig) but I don’t think anybody else had the same problem I’m having? I am not getting enough momentum out of the back dive to get much beyond a vertical upside down, so am not anywhere near the front balance position… Doesn’t matter if I start more sitting up or leaning back… Here’s a video that’s pretty typical: https://www.silksstars.com/community/mamalama88/media/

Great question! The wrap for the front balance is sliding off the front of your thighs as your legs are staying vertical for too long to keep the wrap. Harness the momentum of the fall by sending your toes towards the floor more. If they kick too much, you will end upright behind the front balance wrap like the other question. Pike or kick or keep hollow long enough to keep the wrap at the hip. Feeling the contact with the wrap will help you learn when to lengthen the chest forward to hit the front balance. Happy training!
