For the continuous cartwheels, yes, try wrapping an inch lower on the leg. Also try pressing your hips forward and straightening both legs down towards the floor for a moment before leaning back and threading the leg through for the cartwheel. Little adjustments like that make a big difference in comfort, for men especially!
