One thing you can try to do to find the power of using the swing and kick of the legs to use momentum is to work in a knot to build comfort with the pathway. Make sure the knot is high enough so you are comfortable really swinging and kicking the legs without being concerned about hitting the floor. Two things to consider: make sure the tails aren’t twisted getting into the Secretary, sometimes a twist in the wrap with keep the silk from settling up the middle. And your leg can either pass ‘behind’ or ‘in front’ of the pole in your hand. It may make the tails twi…Read more

I was waiting for this answer but it didnt make it to the QnA. I guess its because Clara didnt have the silks and couldnt really demonstrate anything. So I screen recorded and slowed down the entry into split silk hip key, wasnt able to try anything since I was traveling but now I am back and will try tomorrow.

Notice how Clara always opens her arm outside of the thigh with the sit up. And she uses a pike to slow down the last rotation to catch the pole. You could practice the dismount in the knot by working on the…Read more

The second problem appears when I extend my leg to turn my hip, I can’t regrab the poles with my knee.

I’m also looking for an alternative to the one arm wrap. I can get to that pose but I don’t really have enough height to be off the ground enough that I feel balanced. That and my shoulder is iffy sometimes. I want to do the full sequence but I think I need to modify something towards the end to make it work.
